We always enjoy our trips to Brisbane, where there seems to be a sense of fun and adventure – plus a good dose of silliness – suffusing the beer scene.
Then again, we tend to visit during Brewsvegas when all things beery and daft are heightened to the nth degree.
The beer week launched in 2014 by a collection of people from the city's bars and breweries is one in which you can readily sense the intentions of its founders are pure and also one that contains possibly more off the wall events than any other; when you can rock up to a balcony full of people enjoying a BBQ, hot sauce and barbering demo and it's still breakfast time, you know this is no ordinary event...
The third Brewsvegas returns in March 2016 with plans to build on the 120 events across 60 venues, big and small, of 2015.
The organisers tell us: "We received a lot of positive feedback about Brewsvegas 2015 and plenty of great suggestions of what could be done to improve and build upon the festival for next year, and so it is after careful planning and consideration that we announce with great pleasure the dates for next year's festival.
"The dates for Brewsvegas 2016 will be from Saturday the 12th of March through to Sunday the 20th of March. Now a little longer than a week, BV16 will take in two full weekends to make it easier for everyone to plan their ultimate Brewsvegas experience."
Following last year's sell out success at which beers ran out seemingly every five minutes, there will be a launch party on Brewsvegas eve, March 11.
Anyone considering getting involved can register their interest at email@example.com and keep an eye on the festival website; early bird online submissions are open from October 18.
