When Newcastle’s Grain Store hosts a beer dinner, it tends to be a big one featuring some of the most respected breweries in the land. The event they’ve lined up for April is certainly no exception as they prepare to welcome in BentSpoke Brewing Co.
The Canberra brewery has been kicking goals since opening in 2014, with head brewer Richard Watkins winning over legions of drinkers with the kinds of fine brews that have seen him take out plenty of trophies over his career. For the dinner, Richard – an ex-Newcastle lad – and partner Tracy Margrain will be making a rare trip out of state to share what they do with lucky Novocastrians.
The dinner itself is happening on Thursday April 7 and will feature six courses of food paired with six beers. These dinners always sell out well in advance and it’s hard to imagine this one-off opportunity will be any exception, so be in quick.
