With its roots now firmly planted, Wayward is ready to start giving back to the community in which it resides. One of the ways in which it's doing it is by launching a series of beers which will sit under the umbrella 'Craft For A Cause'.
This will see the brewer team up with a charity of choice several times a year to brew a one-off beer which will be poured at the brewery and a few associated events. First off the rank is a rose kolsch that's been brewed in conjunction with Cystic Fibrosis NSW.
It will pour for the first time at the brewery's cellar door on May 1 with pop up food from Jarrod's Shakes and Dogs and live music from 3pm.
The second major launch happens from May 6-8 when a few kegs will be sent to Sydney venues for a weekend fundraiser which will include charity pints. Keep you eyes on Wayward's social media for updates.
The biggie is a Cystic Fibrosis Charity Evening at the brewery on May 25 which will feature guest hosts, commemorative merchandise, free-flowing beer and canapes as follows:
- Beer and chilli peanut brittle
- Corn tortilla chips with Guacamole
- Roasted pumpkin, sundried tomato and olive calzone
- Beef empanadas with salsa verde
- Sticky bacon wrapped chipolatas BBQ sauce
- Southern fried chicken wings ranch dressing
- Pulled pork sliders Asian slaw
The latter is a ticketed charity event and there are 250 spaces available, so you'll need to reserve a spot here. All proceeds go towards CF NSW.
