It's been almost exactly a year since Mountain Goat took out the title of Champion Australian Beer at the 2015 Australian International Beer Awards with their biggest ever beer, a near-13 percent ABV barrel aged barley wine.
Since then plenty has changed behind the scenes at Goat but the brewery team has been busy ploughing forward with new releases, one of which is this year's version of the Barrel Breed Barley Wine.
There was next to none of this beer available last year – especially after it took out the major gong – and this year is likely to be just as limited, so your best best to grab a taste will be to head to the brewery on Friday May 6 when they'll be tapping the first keg.
The last keg of the Zymurgist IPA may be still pouring too, while they'll also be inviting Iris and the Secret Squirrel in to serve up delicious dumplings.
The BBBW will be tapped at 5pm.
