It's fair to say 2016 was a massive milestone year for The Lord Nelson as it celebrated 30 years as a brewery, 175 as a continuously licensed hotel, put its beer in cans for the first time and – just to add some icing atop the cake – took out a top award for the restaurant wine list.
For its first seasonal beer dinner of 2017 they're bringing all the highs and the history together for an evening of tall tales and good beers, hosted by the Lord's inimitable captain, Blair Hayden.
The menu will dig into the archives and blend those recipes with some of the things they do day to day at the brewery – think along the lines of sourdough made from brewer's grain, wort-cured Salmon and Old Admiral poached pears.
As well as the beloved regulars, they'll be breaking out a few special beers too in the form of aged kegs put away specifically for these sorts of dinners.
Seats at the table are limited so you'll need to book in advance by emailing hotel@lordnelson.com.au or calling them on (02) 9251 4044. Tickets are $95 per person.
