Happy Valley owner Cheyne loves his hops. And he wants to make sure there’s a crisp lager available every time people come into the brewery.
There’s an easy way to bring those two things together.
Murals With Metaphors is a new world lager that takes a clean lager base and hits it with a dose of dry-hopping. Lemony citrus and melon notes light up the tongue, and there’s a nice bitterness that lingers on the back of the palate.
It’s always neat to find an easy-drinking session beer with flavour. Cheyne particularly enjoys giving this beer to people who usually just drink commercial lagers, and watching their eyes light up.
“It’s a stepping stone into craft,” he says. “Shows people what hops can do.”
