Happy Valley Monza Italian Pils

Apparently Monza is a reference to some Italian car thing.* But I’m going to call this beer Bonza, because I’m Australian and this beer is great.

It’s an Italian pils aged for 100 days in tank, and it’s achieved phenomenal clarity. I held up my tasting glass of this lager and could see straight through it like a crystal ball; the YOUR HAPPY PLACE graffiti on the taproom wall was perfectly clear to read, even if back the front and upside down. The beer brings hop spice aplenty as you’d want from an Italian pils, and a multi-layered bitterness that starts slow and picks up speed.

Bonza, Monza.

*Yes, of course I can Google it and see that it’s the Formula 1 Grand Prix at Monza. But that doesn’t tell me much – I’ve never been to Monza and I don’t know how many formulas there are and I don’t know just how grand the prix is.
