Fun fact: this beer was actually called Hammerhead at first, but a 90s-loving retailer always referred to it as Hammertime, leading the brewery to take that on as the beer’s new name when they rebrewed it. Who said one person can’t make a difference?
While this American IPA doesn’t quite look back to the beer scene of 1990 (in Australia, at least), it looks back to a time when IPAs shone deep gold and were loaded with specialty malts and bittering hops. Hammertime is thick with flavours of grapefruit peel and resiny goodness, with a piney bitterness that lasts and lasts.
Tastes like large pants and excellent dancing.
