The first thing you need to know about Good Land Brewing’s Smoovie is just how purple it is. It’s so deeply purple that it’s hard to know exactly what to compare it to. Poisonous berries? Grimace? An actually smoothie?
OK that last one is probably the best option given the the sour is absolutely stacked with fresh blueberries, banana and mango. The second thing to know about the beer is that it’s thick, so thick that once the beer’s gone, you can’t help but wonder if your glass will ever be clean again. The third thing to know is that having loaded the smoothie sour with fruit, Good Land have still managed to provided wonderfully well integrated flavours where blueberry and banana square off in equal measures while mango hits slightly heavier and leans nicely into the beer’s lasting tartness. The fourth thing to know about this beer is that it really is THAT purple...
