It might still be cold outside (particularly if you call Tassie home) but, if you look closely enough, you’ll start to spot the signs of new life, meaning it’s time to pack away those winter stouts. However, while a crisp lager matches the summer heat and a roasty red ale pairs well with autumnal hues, what are we supposed to be drinking in spring?
Shambles Brewery have the answer with their seasonal release heralded as a ‘Springtime’ Hazy IPA, Push Th’ Little Daisies. It pours from the can with a light sun-kissed haze and the first sip is reminiscent of spring. With buckets of BRU-1 thrown into the brew, floral and pineapple aromas blossom from the glass with every swig. It’s not your big, heavy hazy, instead leaning more towards a soft, smashable dry haze, thanks to the low finishing gravity of the beer.
The beer also seems to take more than just its namesake from one of the more peculiar songs of the nineties, with a floriated psychedelic artwork draped around the can. All in all, it’s wonderful company for the warming weather, making a four-pack of this IPA the perfect spring bouquet.
