Bridge Road Brewers Passionfruit Sour

The fruited sour train at Bridge Road Brewers isn’t slowing anytime soon with this passionfruit-packed and guava-guided sour joining the club in May 2021. The brewers have been working on getting fruit into sour beer longer than most too, as with their Belgian inspired and cherry-aged The Creek, but this recent run of tinned sours are brewed quicker and are a little more about speedy refreshment more than quiet contemplation.

And that's what we’ve got with Passionfruit Sour, where the heavy use of that fruit unsurprisingly takes the mind straight to Passiona-land or maybe a passionfruit-topped yoghurt. The guava takes a little longer to find but it's definitely in there in a softer measure, while the beer's gentle tartness and a slight minerality take you more towards a soft drink, even a juice you'd have with your brekkie, that's a little fancier (sorry Cottee's – no offence intended).
