Mate is a powerful word in Australia. Not only can you comfortably use it in any given situation (particularly when you’ve forgotten someone’s name) but in the right context, it can mean the opposite of its intent. Saying mate through gritted teeth is showing someone you’re certainly not their mate and you wouldn’t mind it if they pulled their head in line a little bit. While adding “little” ahead of the word in question only has the potential to add in some condescension and used correctly, it’s very powerful indeed.
Good Land’s Little Mate Session XPA is a powerful beer too but it's one but with a small stature, with the ABV coming in at 3.2 percent. Hopped with the all-Australian trio of Galaxy, Eclipse and Topaz, Little Mate hits with crisp stone fruit notes and packs a punch of passionfruit, mandarin and pine while providing a pretty decent bitterness on the finish too. Power it seems, can come from all sorts of places.
