Capital Brewing have always liked to promote the active lifestyle that living in Canberra offers. You may well be able to get a job at the brewery without being a mad-keen mountain biker but a few pads and war wounds to prove your time off the road would be unlikely to harm your chances. To further connect with the hikes, bushland and way of life that surrounds their home, Capital added ALC-LESS to their core range in 2022, with the “zero hero” a booze-free Pacific ale.
The release followed a multiple-year recipe development process that saw the brewery install a 350-litre pilot brewery so they could continually refine the beer. The result of those many brews is a pale, hazy, light and refreshing beer that brings enough passionfruit, citrus and guava hop flavours that ensures Alc-Less might be the kind of hero you can believe in.
