December sees the new incarnation of Randwick's DOG Hotel celebrate a year of being one of the biggest craft beer venues in the city. So, to celebrate in suitable style, they'll be turning their taps over to the beers of the Sydney Brewery.
16 of the now Lovedale-based brewery's many multi-award-winning beers will be pouring, as will a one-off collaborative steam ale called Light Rail Ale (a name that should resonate with locals looking forward to a new public transport option in the eastern suburbs) – that beer will be going to just $5 a pop all day.
There'll be plenty of other beer specials on offer too, not to mention food specials and a chance to chat with head brewer Michael Capaldo when he pops in from about 6pm.
Lastly, but by no means leastly, they'll be running a competition to win a two night trip to the Hunter Valley with accommodation, brewery tour, tasting and dinner – just buy a beer and enter at the bar.
