A cast of thousands (well, more than a dozen anyway) came together at Philter's Marrickville brewery for this addition to the long line of Pink Boots Society brews, with Blackhearts & Sparrows jumping on board too. As is PBS's wont, the recipe featured the latest Pink Boots hop blend – one made up of US varieties Loral, Eukanot, and HBC 586 – as well as Mosaic, Citra and a touch of Sabro.
Tagged a hazy pale ale and called Juicy, I'd place it more in the latter camp: haze is on the lighter side, while texturally it's nor overtly full or creamy. Indeed, given the smorgasbord of hops at play, it's pretty restrained, with little in the way of bitterness, and a gentle dusting of tropical fruit juice atop a lightly sweet malt base.
As with all PBS brews, some of the profits go towards supporting the not-for-profit, in this case $18 per slab and $3 per four-pack sold.
