The more time passes, the more the warnings that hazy / cloudy beers would never take off that accompanied the arrival of the first NEIPAs on these shores feel like a curio. Sure, most things are cyclical, and maybe the time of hazy pales and IPAs will pass at some point, but it's not looking like that will be any time soon.
Six String added Hazy – which first appeared as their 1000th brew – to their core range at the end of 2023 and, soon enough, it was selling like hotcakes (hazycakes?). Pouring with a peachy hue, and with lower carbonation to aid softness on palate, the trio of Nelson Sauvin, Cashmere and El Dorado hops arrive as pineapple, OJ and tinned peach syrup. While bitterness is low, it feels like they kept the pH on the low side too, with a touch of textural prickle contributing to a crisp finish.
