Stomping Ground Four Seasons Kolsch

Given part of the ethos driving Stomping Ground is to bring in new people to craft beer – including those who would never have visited a brewery or brewpub before – there's a fair bit of attention focused on the "Easy Drinking" section of their beer menu. And it's there that you find the Four Seasons Kolsch, the first step away from the Laneway Lager before you hit more punchy flavours and aromas.

Head brewer Ashur Hall first came to wider attention within the Aussie beer world when, just a few months after taking over a joint head brewer role at Illawarra with Shaun Blissett (now plying his trade at Wayward in Sydney), he took out a trophy at the Australian International Beer Awards for their Koelsch. In other words, he knows how to brew a decent interpretation of the beer style that originates in Cologne.

The Stomping Ground Kolsch is clean and simple, with biscuit malts leading the way and just a hint of fruity hops.
