They’ve never been ones to shy away from new releases at Blackman’s but now their Geelong brewery has been operating for around a year, it feels like the breadth and speed of new beers is particularly impressive. Needs More Strata is the eighth member in the brewery’s single hop series, with this new entrant triple dry-hopped with the freshest Strata Blackman’s could get out of the States. The IPA uses both T90 pellets and Cryo Strata which provide a wafting wave strawberry as soon as you crack open the can while that berry is joined by passionfruit, rockmelon and a dank and bitter finish.
From a long-running series to a first, the latest Needs More is joined by Laid Back, Blackman’s inaugural nitro. Those tiny little bubbles provide an ultra-smooth and creamy base as the combination of roasted and specialty malts ensures the stout is packed with chocolate, caramel and biscuit with Laid Back enticing you to relax on the couch and embrace this bristling winter.
