Go Your Own Way Oatmeal Stout is another shining example of a balanced beer from Cupitt’s – if something this dark can be described as "shining".
Not to be confused with the Go Your Own Whey of previous years,* which used whey from the cheesemaking side of Cupitt’s Estate, this iteration of the stout looks to oats rather than whey to bring its body.
The tan foam smells like a block of Cadbury's Old Gold, and like someone near you – not next to you, but near you – is drinking a black coffee. It comes up quite dry in the mouth, and the six specialty malts bring subtle chocolate and the slightest flick of roastiness at the end.
And of course, there’s still only one song that could be the soundtrack to this beer…

*I definitely read the can wrong and it took a while for me to catch on that this was a different beer. I am easily confused, though.
