Mountain Goat Ginger Beer

The second of two new non-beer core range offerings from Mountain Goat to appear ahead of summer 2023/24 is this ginger beer. And, as with the other – the Hazy Apple Cider – it's one that appears to have taken aim with the dead centre of the ginger beer realm.

That's not denying the aromas once the pale, hazy liquid splashes into your glass aren't explosive – that is a typical calling card of such drinks, after all. Or that those aromas bring ginger root and a cane sugar-like sweetness aplenty in their wake. It's more that it doesn't build to a feisty crescendo like some, with the back palate impact more tickly prickle than meaty heat, presumably all in the service of keeping things crowd-pleasing and approachable.
