Beaches, penguins, MotoGPs … Phillip Island packs a lot into a small place but we can’t wonder if it’s missing something. Surely it’s about time the coastal community got its own full-scale hop farm given Ocean Reach Brewing’s desire to make hop-led beers? Crisp Tropics is an India Pale Lager that’s heavy on the juice flavours. It produces a mix of pineapple, melon, fresh peach and orange that is so sweet it’s almost like a candy, while a clean bitterness and dry finish ensure the hoppy lager lives up to its name.
That beer’s joined by Witch Doctor III; a double dry hopped haze IPA that this time around, was brewed to highlight Cryo Cashmere and Azacca hops. It’s filled with mango, melon, guava and lime, while a touch of bitterness appears beside a lush, soft and super fruity base. Fortunately, the beer once again lets us revisiting this truly cursed film clip - happy Halloween indeed.
