The South West seems to be the perfect location for the steady sipping of refreshing ginger beer. Soaking in the sun by the beach, after a trail or cycle through any of the region’s landscapes well-suited for adventure, or as the mercury slowly dips as the days cool into nights.
Such drinks are well represented in the region, and are growing in popularity withing the broader WA drinking scene. And here Beerfarm enter the chat. Theirs leans a little less spicy than some others, lighter and cleaner for ultimate drinkability. There isn’t any fruit or spice to complicate things, but it isn’t as simple as syrup + spirit + soda = ginger beer, either. Instead, it's naturally fermented with ginger, is balanced with a touch of residual sweetness and, above all else, is very refreshing. Over ice is a suggestion from the Beerfarm brewers, and this taster tends to agree, with an ice-cold edge further boosting repeatability.
They haven’t strayed from what punters have come to expect from a ginger beer (no sugar free "healthier" claims with artificial sweetener kick-back here), but they have made something that will stand up against its peers.
