As part of Pint of Origin, CoConspirators have dedicated their taps to pouring beers from the ACT and Northern Territory. It doesn’t just give Melburnians the chance to drink beers that rarely make it outside their backyard but also gave CoConspirators the opportunity to do one of their favourite things and collaborate on some new creations. Both of these two are enjoying a wider release too and among them is The Pyrotechnician; a DDH hazy IPA made with Canberra’s Capital Brewing, Cypher and Ale Mary and featuring three hops that are abbreviated into the city’s code: Cascade, BRU-1 and Riwaka. Sure, the beer might feature an explosives expert but in reality, this character is a far smoother affair thanks to quite a lush malt body and plenty of flavours in the shape of orange juice, mandarin and papaya.
The Spokesperson meanwhile saw CoConspirators team up with BentSpoke to make a beer close to both of their hearts: a double West Coast IPA. Featuring Cashmere, Nectaron, Idaho 7 and Centennial hops, if you let the figurehead speak you’ll find upfront grapefruit with plenty of zest, floral bergamot and pine with a lasting bitterness.
