The good people of Gippsland needn't worry if they don’t ever make it to Bavaria. Sure, the sausages are good but Good Land Brewing have once again spent their spring serving up classic lagers. Züper Kool keeps things simple with the kölsch as clässic as one you’ll find under the Köln Cäthëdräl (my apologies to Germanic readers and linguist). Pouring golden yellow with absolute clarity, it's a beer that prays for sunshine and if you enjoy it with the rays hitting you, you’ll find bread, toast and a touch of pear that all quickly vanish into a crisp and clean finish.
Hauptbahnhof, meanwhile, is the brewery’s returning Märzen that has previously secured a gold medal at The Indies. The golden copper lager might be just as clean and drinkable as that Kool kölsch, but it also has plenty of sweetness, with the malt bringing brioche and biscuity flavours while the hops deliver soft earthy pine, floral aromas, and a substantial bitterness.
