Sharing its name with the patron saint of brewers (and many other things) – old mate spreading joy via a flying sleigh pulled by horses with horns – and also with Seasonal's part-owner Nick Southwell, this festive treat ably fills the gap in the Maylands' brewpub's taps left by an intense two-month opening period that's seen the initial lineup of kegs blow with increasing frequency.
Guava, green mango and a general tropical appeal meet old school orange and subtle pine, which makes Old Saint Nick part 2019 and part 2012. The all Aussie malt body, however, is all about the now: clean and without a caramel malt grain in sight, making Seasonal’s Christmas release score high for sessionability.
