First things first: I refuse to write passionfruit as two words. One word 'til I die.
7 Bells is a big fat dose of passionfruit in a glass (or can, if you prefer to drink straight from the tinnie). Fresh passionfruit can tend either to be more sweet or more tart; the flavour here is as the sweeter end. But the sour ale provides the tang to give a smack of refreshment.
This is a gose style of beer, which means you may notice a slight saltiness balancing out the sourness. If you’ve never had a gose, you don’t need to fear: it doesn’t taste like seawater or anything. The salt is subtle as a flavour, but it does a superb job of complementing the tartness and sweetness of the passionfruit.
Wet enough to quench your thirst; dry enough to beat the Queensland humidity.
