Sauce are coming in hot with tropical vibes, ready to send it with two beers showcasing experimental new hop varieties from NZ as part of the Bract Brewing Programme. It’s like "Pinky and the Brain" have done a Far North Queensland special in the heart of Marrickville.
First up is Experiment 106: XPA, which pours with an airy froth akin to a champagne bubble bath and as light in colour as an elixir of youth. Heavy passionfruit aromas from the Citra hops that join the Kiwi newcomer will leave you wondering if you are suddenly in a tropical oasis or, at the very least, a trendy inner-west beer garden. First sips will lead to another greedy gulp: this is a thirst-quencher without a doubt ready to be enjoyed easily while forgetting the horrors of the working week.
Experiment 109: Cali IPA creates a tropical fruit bowl: pale gold in colour and topped by a pearlescent light head. The citrus sweetness is balanced with a base of wheat and Vienna malts. Never the sorts to compromise on flavour, Sauce's mad scientists have delivered on that front, even if it is still to be confirmed if head brewers are secretly cartoon laboratory mice trying to take over the world.
