DDH – it doesn’t always mean the beer set to vacate your can is going to be hazy anymore. Into The Strata Sphere is one such example: another beer from Sunday Road I’d pop in the "modern West Coast" category, and gosh it’s delightful.
Bright on the eyes and satiny on the tongue, ITSS comes to the field just oozing soft resin. I say soft not because there’s not much of it,* but because it envelops you rather than hits you with blunt force. This is like being hit with a big feather pillow, not a pillowcase full of doorknobs and rectangular D batteries.
As it settles in the mouth, this beer releases sweet pineapple and bitter citrus rind along with a smooth alcohol flavour, like a shot of pineapple schnapps after a meal. The resin remained the strongest flavour for me, though. So I guess it can't be that soft. But it is. It is soft. It's the gentle giant. It's Fezzik in The Princess Bride.

*There’s plenty of it… didn’t you see the word "oozing"?
