To honour one of their brewers finishing his brewing certification, not only did Modus go and give Toddy his own limited release beer, but they let him shoot a hose up in the air for a cool photo op for the label. Though, to be fair, he’s probably the one who had to clean all the water up afterwards anyway.
The beer he made to celebrate is Album Cover, a hazy pale with a pleasant twist. Because I have a confession to make: since hazy pales are all the rage and there are so many of them around, in my darker moments I something think rude things to myself, like: “Oh dear, another hazy pale ale?” I'm only human, after all.
So imagine my delight when I buried my nose into Album Cover and smelled something unexpected for a hazy pale ale: something deeper and dank. Dank with real potency too that balanced out the fruitier notes. The can didn’t advertise it, I’m not exactly sure where it came from, but there it was, and it really worked for me. I stuck my nose so deep into the glass that it almost touched the bottom.
Yes, there’s also the expected pillowy juicy peach passionfruit citrus blah blah blah.
Dat dank tho…
