Margaret River Brewhouse have been on a bit of a tear in 2020. Following on from their 2019 rebrand, they’ve rereleased some past crowd favourites in fresh new clothing while also dropping a couple of new one-offs to acclaim from local beer lovers. And, as spring approaches, they've released this Rhubarb Berliner Weisse a little bit on the down low…
Brewed with a stack of locally grown rhubarb, this bright and vibrant fruited sour is strikingly tart and gushes with rich rhubarb and sweet strawberry aromatics. It's a beer that's all about acid, in which a simple grain bill keeps the body light with just a hint of bready malt. The addition of deep, ruby red rhubarb lends a smidgeon of pink hue to the liquid while also imparting some gripping, chalky texture.
Rhubarb Berliner Weisse is effortlessly refreshing at 4.4 percent ABV and loaded with flavour too. Ensuring it pops a little bit more, Zendoke (who picked up seven design golds at the Perth Royal Beer Awards) have wrapped this uber fun sour in an even more entertaining pastel pink and yellow tin; you won’t be able to miss it at your local craft beer stockist (unless you don't make it in time...).
