Margaret River Brewhouse is a destination brewery, one that in many cases requires a little bit of commuting in order to enjoy its many pleasures. Accordingly, the brewing team has considered those who need to keep an eye on how many standard drinks they’re consuming and come up with their light but full-flavoured Mer-Mid.
They began trialling recipes for the beer back in December 2021, with those initial batches available on tap only before they settled on the beer they wanted and added it in cans to their year-round offering. Mer-Mid pours with a pale, hazy disposition with vibes that are very much tropical meets coastal: ripe stone fruit, mango, grassiness and a light minerality all feature. The body is light but carries a gentle bitterness and finishes super clean, ensuring this mid-strength hazy is both flavourful and crush-worthy.
Margaret River Brewhouse have plenty of great beers in their lineup and Mer-Mid, after a few tweaks, is another set to ensure everyone can enjoy a MRB pint (or tin) without compromise.
