Rocky Ridge’s latest collaborative release, this time with the Northern Suburbs' craft beer retail stalwarts Copper & Oak, offers a textbook West Coast IPA profile laden with bold fruit character and dominant fresh hop notes.
Good Energy by name and by nature, this fresh-is-best release features a prominent and familiar sweet/sour pineapple profile upfront, while being underpinned by generous and vibrant stonefruit and orange notes. Remarkably, the 7 percent ABV is virtually unnoticeable, and a very modest bitterness is just present enough to provide a balance against malt sweetness. Some citrus kicks around after each sip, while a gentle sweetness also lingers, providing an ongoing fruit salad affair in the mouth.
As we've come to expect, Good Energy is yet another quality, hop-driven effort from Rocky Ridge, no doubt in part due to the contributions of the ever-impassioned and knowledgeable team at Copper & Oak infiltrating the Rocky Ridge brewhouse.
