In the month of March, Rocky Ridge have thrown down a couple of freshies alongside reboots of past favourites – all dropping just a couple of weeks on from the brewery's last seven limiteds. Where do they find the time...?
Fresh takes on old favourites include Polskie Pivo, the Champion Beer of 2022 at the Perth Royal Beer Awards. It's undergone some slight adjustments but still boasts its famed taint of smoke and a light body with a spritzy carbonation. Ra Ra Raspberry is also back in tallboy tinnies, with less lactose sweetness than last time around. It still remains, however, a smashing combo of sweet/sour shot through with a rich raspberry character.
As for freshies, Tropicale is as clever in style as the name is punny; it's a mid-strength IPA featuring loads of pineapple, passionfruit and some pine. Light but hazy, it’s mid in ABV but full in flavour. Wrapping up this foursome is Ice Ranga, a hybridised style taking the shape of a red IPL (India pale lager). Ruby red with plenty of malt complexity, the hops are layered on top in a coming together that offers caramel sweetness, sticky pine and notes of stonefruit and citrus for good measure.
