Margaret River Brewhouse’s Megsy has become one of WA’s most popular ginger beers, and it's one of the originals too, given its launch at the brewery’s inception. She's remained a consistent offering for the tourist-driven brewery, no doubt in part due to her moderate 3.1 percent ABV.
Fragrant ginger is a dominating factor while a touch of spice gently pricks the tastebuds, leaving you wanting more. Sweetness and a touch of lemon-like acidity are balanced alongside some earthy tones, adding to generous ginger flavours. A champagne-like carbonation helps to lift and carry aromatics with each sip, enhancing flavour even further before settling into a sharp, clean finish.
MRB’s Megsy is equal parts palatable and iconic for Western Australian drinkers, dominating in a space where balance can be tricky, and with a lowly ABV that aids repeatability.
