Flexing their creative muscles yet again, this times in the realm of fruit-laden sours, the Cheeky Monkey crew have released a feisty feijoa and hibiscus sour in honour of outgoing senior brewer Gav Williams.
The pinky-orange hue when poured is eye-catching, while perky sweet guava and pineapple dominate the aroma. A modest level of acid is prominent on tasting, met by sweetly tropical feijoa, green apple, guava and a touch of something more herbaceous. The finish is short and sharp, as expected from such a beer.
Cheeky Monkey know their way around a fruited sour and this feijoa and hibiscus iteration is no exception, sweetly integrating fruit and herb into a balanced base beer.
