Cheeky Monkey are back to their old tricks. On the back of an easy-going, toned-down, albeit delicious mid-strength hazy, they've headed back in the other direction here: fruit – check; lactose – check; dessert-inspired – check; dense, unctuous consistency – oh, yeah. Let's just say Raspberry & Blackberry Panna Cotta Pastry Sour is playing to the Margaret River brewer's strengths.
Sweet-sour is the dominant character with ripe berries and piercing citrus-like acidity commingling. A luscious, creamy body lifts similar aromatics while retaining fresh fruit character into a long, moreish finish.
Cheeky Monkey have already proven they have the chops when it comes to dessert-inspired pastry sours, and ongoing demand from the thirsty (or should that be hungry?) masses and a (thick AF) consistency with each release ensures they keep coming.
