Modus Beer Hazy Pacific

If you were looking for two words to catch the ear of a casual craft beer drinker in 2023, you could do far worse than "hazy" and "Pacific", and for their GABS mixed pack entry Modus have decided to employ both. The original Pacific Ale was one of the first non-Coopers beers to put haze into Aussie drinkers' glasses, as well as plenty in the way of tropical passionfruit vibes, and that's where Modus have set their sights here.

Pouring more densely cloudy than merely hazy – it reminds me of a heavier witbier, if anything – it’s bitey and quenching. The fruits come across as lively, with a rind-like quality: tart and lean. And any upfront sweetness doesn't stick around long, soon overwhelmed by Hazy Pacific's dry finish.
