Swell's fans lapped up their first oat cream IPA, with Into The Juice selling out in quick fashion. So here's Out Of The Juice, which focuses on just two hop varieties – Galaxy and Citra – compared to the five in the first iteration. It possesses the tell-tale signs of an oat cream IPA, namely the juiciness, the soft body, and next to no bitterness. There is a sweet sugar milk vibe early, punching through the earthy peach and juicy apricot. The hop characters are incredibly clean and juicy, while the 7.2 percent ABV booze count balances the hop juice, adding a touch of warmth and plenty of good times.
Swell’s first dark release of the year is Dominical Express, a chocolate hazelnut porter loaded with organic cocoa powder and hazelnut flavours. The name is a reference to a surf break in Costa Rica, one that utilises sandbars to shape barrels perfect for beginners. The water is a brown colour due to the flow from the Baru River, something that's been reimagined as a porter. It pours dark brown with lashings of both chocolate and hazelnut, whose flavours and aromas ebb and flow over the course of the glass.
