I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Willie Wonka was never fit to run a chocolate factory. Kids falling into chocolate rivers, deeply disturbing monologues, blueberries that make kids turn into balloons - how did this guy get his working with children check? The chaos of Wonka has been wholeheartedly embraced by Dainton, however, with their Fudgement Day can featuring fire and anarchy in the factory.*
The double choc-fudge porter is the kind of rich beer the brewery knows how to brew well, and although there's a lot to dive into, it's less chaotic than the can and more about harmony. The aroma brings an air of tobacco and liquorice which sticks around on the taste where it's joined by a web of dark chocolate, plum and cherry all seamlessly blending into one.
