If you're setting out to make a Pilsner, chances are it's going to have some pretty strong ties to the classic European versions of the style, and so it is with The Australian Brewery Pilsner. By using the most pale of pale and wheat malts, this has all the lightness and clarity you'd ask for in a Pils. And of course it has the quintessential crisp, refreshing bitterness from US and New Zealand hops - but not too much though. And therein lies the key to this beer: balance. With the bitterness being balanced with a rounded body and slight sweetness, your palate isn't pulled too hard in any direction but every part is tickled in the right way. With its ancient heritage and new world ingredients, this is a Pilsner that has something old and something new and is one of the finest lagers you'll find anywhere in Australia.
