Another day, another single hop IPA from Ballistic. After introducing us to Fortnight and Pekko unencumbered by any additional hops, this time they’ve gone with a more familiar variety: Centennial.
The aroma is big and bright, enveloping you in an intoxicating fragrance of super ripe fruit and fruit blossoms, like you’re walking through an orchard. Those floral notes fade into the background as you sip, replaced with sweet lemon peel characters and a little resiny pine. After such upfront hop aromas and citric flavours, the bitterness is clean and smooth, present but not oppressive.
The name implies this beer can be drunk for a hundred years. Challenge accepted.
