Among a slew of new beers designed to get beer geeks hot under the collar comes something a little different from Cheeky Monkey: a fresh and lightly hazed summer ale, suitably and simply named Sherby. Sliding into the "cheap and cheerful" bracket favoured by a growing number of brewers in these straitened times, Sherby is a cost effective crusher released mid-autumn.
At sub 5 percent ABV and with a hopping rate rather milder than the IPAs to have left the brewery around the same time, Sherby is built around Galaxy, Vic Secret and Cascade hops that create a sweet, tropical aroma easily transported by a smooth finish and an overtone best described as "juicy".
Light, balanced and refreshing is the MO from the Cheeky Monkey crew for a beer they reckon is best served ice cold with good mates.
