Fresh from taking out a plethora of trophies and medals at The Indies 2020, Dainton have added a fresh and hazy new beer to their core lineup, Equalizer. Hazy IPAs have been well-covered ground for the Melbourne brewery and responsible for some of those aforementioned awards and here, they’ve looked to dial the booze down compared to some of the recent releases for a hazy pale. It's a style that’s been something of a trend this year with many breweries looking to partner juicy hops and sessionability.
And that’s exactly what Dainton does here. The golden and pale provides plenty of big notes of freshly-squeezed orange juice that’s had a little grapefruit mixed in and those are joined by pineapple and nectarine. At 4.7% ABV, Equalizer’s still light on its feet and a beer that finishes lean and bitter enough that it lets you pick up the second tin without giving it a moment’s thought.
