Moo Brew turn 18 this November, a milestone not achieved by too many independent brewers across Australia. Ahead of their birthday bash at their Salamanca brewpub Manky Sally's, they've dusted down an old favourite for another hop around the country.
If memory serves correctly, this year's Hefeweizen is a little different to those that came before. I'd always found Moo's take on the Bavarian classic to lean towards the spicier end of the style spectrum, whereas this one bursts out of the can like a freshly opened bag of banana lollies. For all that it opens up with such a wave of sweetness, it still manages a refreshingly cleansing finish, with familiar banana bread malts providing the filling in the sandwich.
