I hate to tell you this but BOM lied to us. No, this isn't some conspiracy-ridden tome about how climate change is a lie; this is simply a reflection of the reality that this was meant to be a hot and dry summer and we didn't get one on the east coast (yet annyway). Molly Rose were so prepared too, releasing multiple beers ready for a season of sun, frivolity and smiles. That includes Grapefruit Surpise, a midstrength filled with citrus that's light on the palate, has a restrained bitterness and is incredibly refreshing to the point where if you assembled the world's top scientists (who clearly don't work at a certain Bureau) to design a beer for Edinburgh Garden, this is likely what they'd come up with. (Sorry for the niche inner north Melbourne reference: it's really just a park, but it's a very good one).
That citrus party continues with Coffee Citrus Sour which was brewed with mandarins, oranges, limes and grapefruit as coffee was loaded in too. Think of it like a delightful espresso spritz with orange peel, juice and tangy citrus pithy thrown in, while the sourness substantial enough to make for an incredibly refreshing affair. And if that's not quite enough sour refreshing for one moment, Molly Rose's Gaterale has also made a return, which you can read about here.
