When it comes time to collaborate with another brewery, it always pays to make sure that beyond brewing together, you have some fun. And is there anything more fun than dressing up as a cowboy?
That seems pretty unlikely, and set to prove it true are St Andrews Beach Brewery and Banks, who donned their best Western attire when they came together to brew West Coast Cowboys. Naturally, it's a style both brew teams share a passion for, and while you might assume this collab was all about playing shootout and seeing how far they could throw a studded boot, the modern spin on traditional lager was brewed with precision.
Using traditional Bohemian pilsner malt, it spent a good 70 days cold conditioning to createa lean, poised, and balanced beer bready notes and a bitterness that runs across the palate. The hops, meanwhile, were a mix of some North American favourites in Simcoe, Mosaic, and Loral, which provide stone fruit, sweet orange, and gooseberry.
Giddy up!
