Coinciding with the release of their modified core IPA comes a bigger, bolshier double IPA. Featuring one of Pikes’ favourite hops, Eureka, this limited release comes in at a bold 9 percent ABV.
On the nose, you are immediately greeted by fresh stone fruit aromas, dominated by nectarines and apricots, with a subtle hint of peach rounding out the fruit profile. The first sip reveals more of the same, but they're soon complemented by earthy, piney notes and a touch of resin, all of which creates a pleasant complexity.
As you continue, an equally welcome sticky sweetness emerges, providing a satisfying mouthfeel, while the finish delivers a balanced bitterness: enough to counter the sweetness but not overpowering, leaving the drinker with a clean yet resinous, lingering aftertaste.
