To mark International Women’s Day 2024, an all-female team from every part of the Gage Roads business brewed Shred Betty, a Juicy IPA from which proceeds from sales are funding a $10,000 Pink Boots Society scholarship.
Riffing on a previous Gage Roads Freo limited release, Shred Betty arrives with sessionable intent, one imbued with the biotransformative, thiol-magnifying Tropicale yeast blend. This non-GMO blend imparts subtle guava and passionfruit flavours, and juicy profile to what could be best described as a modern pub beer – especially if that pub happens to have a portside aspect.
Pouring misty yellow gold – this is juicy, not hazy after all – Tropicale’s tropical vibe carries proceedings with Mosaic, Citra and Simcoe-derived mango and sweet ruby grapefruit filling out the vibe. Initially a little sweet, Shred Betty soon settles into a light-bodied, and highly-quaffable beer, something to enjoy after a morning spent shredding, or brewing for that matter!
