Big Shed are no strangers to the GABS stage; in fact, several of their weird and wonderful entries have polled well in the People's Choice in past: Golden Stout Time took out third in 2015 and Boozy Fruit claimed top spot three years later. So, where to from here? How about an oat cream blueberry milkshake IPA that's bright blue in colour with a swirling of blue glitter? Yeah, that should do the trick.
Aptly named Violet NoRegard, this 8 percent ABV concoction seems to hit the mark for the drinker on the hunt for a challenge. Pouring dark blueberry blue with a hint of shiny glitter when held to the light, it certainly stands out from the crowd, and the flavours it promises come through as expected. Fruity blueberry leads the charge, followed by a distinct creamy milkiness and a touch of vanilla, with that trio giving off strong milkshake vibes and the berries adding a touch of tartness on the backend. The mouthfeel is thick and syrupy, with a mild carbonation and a that blueberry-driven tart dry finish. Approved by nine out of ten milkshake IPA drinking Oompa Loompas.
