As we approach the end of the year, 2023 might be one many would prefer to forget. Don't you miss the good old days of craft beer where everyone's biggest worry was that there was simply too many different beers in any one fridge? Here to take us back are Burnley Brewing with a couple of fresh looks at some classics of their own. New Flex is a modern spin on the brewery's West Coast IPA which was released in the middle of 2020 (wait a second: that's not exactly a time we want to be reminded of either is it?). It returns with a retro look, lean base, big bitterness and hop notes that lean between zesty citrus and pine.
Double Dry Hopped Pale Ale meanwhile is a souped-up pale made with El Dorado, El Dorado Cryo, Galaxy, Idaho-7 and Ekuanot Cryo hops. It's a sessionable beer that doesn't feel too far removed from the brewery's core range pale thanks to how present the hops are while also remaining quite balanced. A juicy beer from start to finish, those hops are all about juicy mango and orange, while there's a touch of resin against the hazy beer's thick backdrop.
